Project Description
Centro San Antonio’s Art Everywhere Project invites San Antonio area artists to submit their qualifications for a new mural at Hemisfair. The mural will be located on a ground-level site near E. Nueva Street, the Magik Theatre and Yanaguana Garden.

Centro’s Art Everywhere Project and the Hemisfair-HPARC team seek an ‘interactive-style’ mural design that pays homage to HemisFair ‘68. The district has always been a bustling location for the city of San Antonio but during HemisFair ’68, people visited the location from far and wide. San Antonians who visited during that time possess many memories of the fair and aspirations for this mural include a celebration of those experiences.

Ideally, the mural will serve as a nostalgic glimpse into this beloved location which put San Antonio on the map. The mural will offer a way to connect people with memories of HemisFair ‘68 along with today’s Hemisfair - and its potential to inspire and delight both locals and visitors.

The new Hemisfair mural will be colorful, reflect the history of the site and should not feature any images that may be deemed offensive or any commercial brand references. This painted mural should cover the entire wall space which will consist of two walls: 41’ and 28’ in length, and an average 13’ tall.
